Here is located the famous summer and winter hotel, the Brandon Inn, which is classed among
its kind as one of the finest in the state of Vermont. It is owned and managed by local stockhold-
ers and is a favorite resort for banquets, conventions, select and private dancing parties and auto-
mobile tourists.
Among the many attractions about Brandon may be mentioned Lake Hortonia, situated eight
miles to the west; also Lake Dunmore, seven miles to the northeast, of which too much cannot be
said. Lake Dunmore is five and one-half miles long and one mile broad and is surrounded by well
wooded mountains and hills. From its eastern shore Mount Moosalamoo, one of the highest peaks
of the main range of the Green Mountains, rises abrupty, while a little to the south of it and several
feet higher than Lake Dunmore, Silver Lake looks down on its larger sister. The scenery along the
road from Brandon village to Silver Lake is said to be the most picturesque in the state of Vermont —
yes, in New England.
One third of a mile to the south, and nearer Brandon, is Fern Lake. This, too, is a lovely
sheet of water. Many smaller lakes and ponds are easily accessible from our village. In these lakes
are found lake trout, pickerel, bass, perch, etc., while the speckled trout are also found in the moun-
tain streams. There is good hunting in season. Deer, fox, squirrel, partridge and water-fowl are
found in abundance and occasionally a black bear or a wild cat is killed by a sportsman.
There are many other points of interest not herein mentioned which go to make this village a
most attractive place to spend a summer or winter; a place, in fact, for a vacation at any season of
the year. Come and see Brandon; you will be welcomed, and we think you will be charmed with
its beauty and loveliness and will agree with us that it is the most beautiful village in New England.

A telephone is a great convenience at your residence and almost a necessity at your place of
business. The protection given by a telephone far outweighs its cost. It will call the firemen in
case of fire, summon the doctor in case of sickness, any emergency which requires aid suddenly,
demonstrates the value of a telephone.
Today in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, alone, there are over 340,000
telephones in daily use. Why not install a telephone at your residence and place of business?
